Cinnamon (Cinnamon)

Cinnamon is a spice obtained from the inner bark of tropical tree species from the genus Cinnamomum. Cinnamon comes in ‘quills’, strips of bark rolled one in another. There actually are two kinds of cinnamon Cinnamomum cassia, which is native to China and Cinnamomum verum, also known as true cinnamon or Ceylon cinnamon, comes primarily from Sri Lanka.

Cinnamon is harvested from the peels of the inner bark of a Cinnamomum tree. The peels are left out to dry and curl up naturally into quills, also known as cinnamon sticks. The quills can then be ground into powder or processed to make cinnamon oil, cinnamon extract, and other cinnamon products.
